  • Can I work with L2S(I539) approved or need visa stamped?

With new L2 policy, can I work with I539 based L2S or I need to get visa stamped from India or some other country?

Got my form I539 last week (conversion from H1B to L2). Form mentions L2S. As per recent dependent visa policy, can I start working based on this form or I need visa stamped on my passport to be eligible to work. Thanks in advance!

I-539 is the form to apply for Change of Status or Extension of Stay. Do you mean your Change of Status application got approved (i.e. you have an I-539 approval notice)? If so, it must have been an I-797A approval notice, which comes with a new I-94 as part of the page. Since you have an L2S I-94, you can use it to work.

    Visas are only for entry.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
