TAX claim for Dependents (L2B)

Hi

I am working on L1B visa and my spouce and daughter are on L2B - dependent visa. Are they eligible for SSN or I need to apply for ITIN to get TAX benefits for them?

Please suggest.

L2 dependents are not eligible to get an SSN. You will need to apply and get the ITIN numbers for your dependents.

L2 spouse with an EAD can apply for an SSN. So if your wife has an EAD, then you can apply an SSN for her. Call the local SSA office for more details.
