Baby born to Indian parents on L1 & L2 visa in USA

Me and my wife in USA on L1 & L2 visa.She is expecting a baby in Feb-2011.
Please help me to figure out the best way to proceed to India after baby's delivery as I would have to leave the USA untill March 20' 2011.
What papers are needed for my baby?

Passport and indian visa/PIO card if you opt for a US passport.
Just passport if you go with Indian passport.

Once the Baby born in USA, you have to ask for SSN. SSN will be processed in the hospital on your request. If you have SSN, go to nearest Postoffice and apply for US Passport.

If you have a US Passport, then you can apply for PIO or you can take Indian Visa for your kid.
