L2 appointment Cancellation or movement to H4

Hi,

I have L2 appointment for my spouse in Oct 2023. My H-1B has been picked up. While keeping the L2 appointment as is, I am trying to include my wife's H4 while trying to book my H-1B appointment. But while adding my wife as H4 applicant while booking my H-1B appointment, it says she already has an appointment because her L2 has been booked. So, I can't keep both appointments for her L2 as well as H4.

So, what should be the best course of action here? Here are some options I could think of.

1. Cancel L2 and try to add her as applicant while trying to book H-1B appointment for myself. The risk here is that the appointment date would extend more. Scheduling my wife's visa appointment is higher priority as I currently have my L1 valid till April 2023 but she has no visa.

A. In this case, will I have to pay visa fees again for H4?

B. Can I use the L2 visa fee receipt for H4 appointment?

C. If I cancel L2 appointment, will the fees be refunded for it?

2. Keep her L2. Try to Schedule H-1B for myself. If I get earlier H-1B appointment for myself, can I add my wife as an additional applicant in it?

Please give it a try creating a new profile using a different email address & see if you can schedule her H4 without impacting her L2 appointment.

Thanks for responding. I guess they identify attempt for duplicate appointment based on passport number of the applicant being added.
