  • Change of company in l1.

    Hai,
I work for a company from India for a client in US in L1A visa. Now the client has expressed interest to employ me..
My L1A visa expires in oct 2011. Is there any possibility for me to join this new company....
    Pls do help...
    Thanks
    MMat.

How much time have you completed in your L1A? L1 + H1B in total is for 6 years. If you haven't completed 6 years in your L1A, then your client can file an H1B petition on your behalf as a COS from L1A to H1B and when that gets approved, you can start working under the payroll of your client.

Thanks so much for the eply
My visa was applied in oct 2004 and I came here to the US in 2004 dec. So by dec 2010 I would have completed 6 years....So I guess there is no other way right....

Have you filed for your Green Card? If yes, what stage are you in right now?

Right! Your client can't process an H1B for you in this situation.
