Hello there,

After getting L2 stamped from consulate in India, is it require to enter into US before applying for EAD? Or Can I apply online from India itself?

You need to be in L2 status to apply for EAD. When you are outside U.S, you do not hold any status, so it is not possible.

Thanks Shervin. Is it advisible to come to US on L2. Apply for EAD and go back to India for 4-5 weeks?

Will it same as not being advisible to travel outside US while on COS?

The same thing applies again. If you leave US, you return the I-94 meaning you DO NOT hold a valid L2 status at the time. EAD cannot be approved without you being on L2 status.
