  • Can I keep my L1 if I apply for L2

I have a valid L1, however for now I have to urgently travel without a project with my spouse who also has a valid L1 and works in US, so I plan to apply for an L2 to travel.
    • Can I keep my L1 as well as L2, since I am looking for a project from my current company and might get one soon and hence may need to travel on L1in a while?
    • If I get my EAD on L2 and start working on that will it impact my L1?
    • What other option can I exercise in order to travel with my spouse and still be able to start working as soon as I get a project.

    >>> That depends on the VO. The VO might cancel your L1 when you attend the L2 interview.

If I get my EAD on L2 and start working on that will it impact my L1?
    >>> Read the above answer. If your L1 visa isn't cancelled , then it will remain valid until it's expiry date.

What other option can I exercise in order to travel with my spouse and still be able to start working as soon as I get a project.
    >>> You can try to apply a COS from L2 to L1 (Not sure how effective it will be). The best option is to leave the country and re-enter back in L1 visa.
