AOS with family based GC while on L1B

I am currently on L1B valid for 2 years. I can get further extension for 2 years.
My brother is a US citizen. Is it a good idea to apply for AOS with family based GC while I am currently on L1B and may further require extension after 2 years.
Will it impact extension of L1B if I apply for AOS now.

Understand the Family based AOS process. It involves 2 steps - Petition (I-130) & AOS (I-485).

Your brother filing immigration petition (I130) does not give you permission to stay in USA. You need to reach second step, i.e. filing AOS to be able to continue staying in USA. Dates for filing AOS is not current right now, neither it seems to be possible sooner (assuming you are Indian citizen). Your L1B will be over by that time.

You'll fall under F4 visa category & currently USCIS is processing GC for peoples filed I-130 in Sept 2005.

L1 & H1 are dual intent visa, so filing AOS does not impact your existing L1/H1 or their future extension(s).
