lost I-797 and I-129

Hi,

I have lost I-797 and I-129 form of my L1 visa for company A.
I am currently in USA working with the company A.
Company B is filing for my H1. B is asking for I797 and I129 to process my H1.
I talked to company A and they are not helping the same.

Is there any way, I can obtain the forms again. I only have the L1 visa stamped on my passport with the valid I94.

Don't you have copies of these documents? Your employer can request USCIS to send the duplicate approval notice. But they will need to send copies of the same.

thanks for the reply Shervin. I don't have a copy of it.. I only have visa stamped on my passport and I have a petition # on that.

If you have the receipt number, then Company B can try and file your transfer using that receipt number to prove that you are already CAP counted. since the H1B CAP is still open, they can also file a new H1B.
How come you didn't bother to take copies of such important documents?

thanks Shervin... my new company is filing a new H1 for me, but they are asking for my earlier L1 B approval.

Can I go for I824, with just a copy of my stamped visa ?

Or any alternative you can suggest ?
