Query regarding change of project with L1B approved

Hi guys.

My husband just got L1B visa approved but now we got to know the client for which he is going to work in USA is not renewing his contract with the employer although client is approching to join them in their new India office. We are really confused and posting our few queries

What happens if client is not available with his employer in next 2 months ?
Can his employer who filed his application send him for some other project in US?

Unlike H1B, L1 does not require a client. L1 is intra-company transfer (not a job dependent on external client).
