Hi,
When I last crossed the border, the immigration officer apparently made a mistake when he processed my I94 form and entered my information on the INS database: he may have indicated C2 instead of L2. This was pointed out by the social security office as they pulled out my visa information from INS files (I was asking for a change of name on my SS card as I got married).
The matter is that my work permit should be processed in the coming weeks at the California USCIS center (I filed everything in mid-January) and I know that USCIS uses the I94 as a proof of the L2 status (a copy of the I94 was indeed required). However, I also sent a copy of my visa stamp and the copy of my husband's L1 visa stamp and I94. Would this last documents enable them to correct their mistake or could my work permit be denied?
I called USCIS to tell them about a possible mistake. I got transfer to different officers, the last one almost hang off on me without answering my questions. Can somebody help please?
Thanks,
AS
