L2 Visa EAD

Hi All,

I have few queries related to L2 Visa EAD. Iam currently working in an MNC in India and will be travelling to US in an L2 visa based on my spouse L1 Visa. Below are some of the questions that i have

1.After how many days of reaching US,I can apply for EAD?
2.Normally what is the time frame within which the EAD will be approved?
3.Normaly when the call comes for finger printing after applying online EAD.
4.After giving finger printing,can I come back to home country and work for my current organisation?
5.When the EAD will be approved,then whether i can resign from the current organization and again travel to USA in L2 VISA?
6. Whether the SSN number can be applied in parallel when the EAD application is in process.
7.Is SSN number required for getting job(after EAD is approved)?and how much time it takes to get the SSN?

2. 60-90 days
3. Couple of weeks. Paper filing is better option than efiling.
4. No, your EAD is based on you maintaining L2 status. If you leave the country, you do not hold a status in the US rendering your EAD application void.

6. SSN can be applied anytime. Not a big deal.
7. SSN is required for a paycheck, not for the job.
