  • Seeking Advice: Respond to L1B Extension RFE or Withdraw and Apply from India?

    Hi everyone,

I recently applied for an L1B extension in the US and received an RFE (Request for Evidence). I'm currently debating whether I should respond to the RFE or withdraw my application and return to India to apply for the extension from there.

I would appreciate any insights or advice from those who have faced a similar situation or have experience with L1B visa processes. What would be the pros and cons of each option? How might each choice impact my chances of approval?

Thanks in advance for your guidance!

    Best regards,
    SG

    Ya , its nice question.
Responding to the RFE is usually advisable, as it allows you to address the specific concerns of USCIS and potentially secure an approval without leaving the country. However, if the RFE points to significant issues, withdrawing and reapplying from India could give you more time to prepare a stronger application.
The downside of withdrawing is the potential delay in your work and travel plans, and there's no guarantee of approval when reapplying. Responding to the RFE quickly and thoroughly might improve your chances without the added complexities of reapplying from abroad.
