A US "visa" is a sticker that takes a whole page of the passport and says "VISA" on it; you can only get one at a US consulate (or in rare cases inside the US for diplomats). As a Canadian citizen, you don't need a visa to seek entry. With the documents you brought, you will be admitted directly into L2 "status" by the immigration officer at entry.
