L1B to B Visa

We do have a situation and need some legal advice pls. My wife and I are expecting a baby and my L1B visa is maxing out on June 05 2025. We thought of having the delivery in India but during the recent visit doctor told traveling such a long distance could be risky as we have a complication. The delivery date should be by end of April and due to the complication it might be early and even though we have sometime but wanted to check about what options we have so that we would feel safe and less mental stress during this important phase of our life, so baby & my wife have sometime before we travel to India.

Example: Can we have a visitor visa just in case? if so what's the process? like should I wait until the max-out and apply it or apply it now itself. (or) Can I use the grace period of 60 days after the expiry?
