My hushband changed his name in India last month and we have all proofs for name change and gazette notification.
We travelled back with the old passport and visa as we were in 1 month vacation only. What is the procedure or what all needs to be updated in USA.
We are thinking of changing the name in passport, during passport renewal which will be mid next yr, can visa also be updated that time or should we do it right away?
In India Gazette officer told, anything that is initiated from the date name changed, has to be with new name. Which means SSN, passport, visa need not be updated right now? Is he right? or should we do it now.
Also I have given his new name in my I140 application. So before I485 should everything be changed by any chance?
