L1 visa holder wanting to visit US as a visitor

Hi,
I have a valid L1 A Visa and my wife has a L2. We have not entered US using these visa till now.However, we would like to visit family in the US.

Q 1. Can we enter US using the exisiting L1 & L2 visas without applying for visitor visa?
Q 2. If a visitor visa is required, what happens to the L1 & L2 visas?
