Hi I hav jst came to US 3 weeks back on my L1B Visa and now i hv to apply for SSN?

I had 3 copies of my I129 petition 1 taken by Embassy, 1 taken by my company and 1 I took along while traveling. But at the port of Entry Immigration Office asked me for 2 copies of I129 and I hv one wid me so he himself took photostat of tht and gvn me I94. Now i am in a dilemma tht i don't hv I129 petition or may be i hv lost it or both copies hv been taken by the immigration officer at the POE.

My Question is while applying for SSN do i hv to show I129 petition or my passport + I94 will do as on Visa Petition Number
is mentioned???. what significance I129 hv now as I am already in US???

You can photocopy it yourself and keep for your records. Your company can give you photocopies too. I don't think it is a big deal.
