Question on L2 EAD

My L1B visa and I-94 are expiring on Nov 2nd 2011. Same dates for my wife's L2 and I-94. My company would be filing an extention for me (in fact applying for an L1A visa) when we are closer to the I-94 expiration date.

My wife is currently working and her EAD is expiring earlier in Aug 2011. I understand that I can apply for her EAD renewal 120 days before expiration (around April 2011). However, by this time, my L1A application process would not have started. So, will she get her EAD renewed for one year or only till Nov 2011, when our I-94 expires?

L1b extension can be filed 6 months prior to the expiration. L2 EAD will not be renewed for a single day without proof that the L1b has been extended and I-94 issued.

How long for L1B extension normally take? Would I get I-94 renewed along with the L1B extn papers?
