L1 visa and driving license

I m on L2 visa and my husband is on L1 visa which is expired on dec 2010. We have already filed for L1A extension..its almost 4 weeks but still in the process.
Our driving license is expiring in feb 2011.

Now Is there any way to get our license renewed or date of license extended till my extension paper arrives??

Is the current driving license will be valid if my I-94 is under process and status is pending??
Could anyone know this issue..
When we checked out in our DMV they said they need the original copy of pention that has been filed..but i dont think it wil be possible to get that..
Can anyone help me pls..

First of all if your I-94 is expiring, have you filed I-539 along with your spouse's L1 extension petition? That is required.
Some states allow temporary DL extensions based on USCIS receipt notices, check if your state does that.
