I attended visa interview on 7th jan 2011 and got 221g. From officer i understand that visa is approved but need further admin processing. I was asked to wait 8-10 weeks. while browsing info on admin processsing I came across this info to contact DoS for status:

- Call 001-202-663-1225
- Press 1 then 0
- Call will reach to visa officer. Will ask your PP Number or case number also your personal info like DOB to verify
- Then will give you status

is it advisible to call Dos as chennai consulate clearly ask applicant not to contact chennai embassy?
