L1 Visa renewal

I am in US since July 2008 on L1B visa. Since then I have never been to india. My L1Bvisa/I94 r getting expired in July 2011. Which is better in the long run - Getting the new visa or renewing the existing visa ?

There is no difference in the process.
First of all your company has to apply for petition extension along with your status extension before the current I-94 expires. After that is approved, you can get the Visa from a US consulate whenever you travel outside the US.

thanks for thsi info. One more question, if I am the process to sponsor visitor visa for my parents, in that case how long will their visa be valid ?

Your status has nothing to do with your parents' Visa duration. It will be given according to what the consular officer thinks is appropriate.
