Do i require I94 to apply EAD

I am on l2 visa now.Unfortunately on my I-94 they wrote it asL1 instead L2 so i applied to correct it.But now i am planning to apply for EAD.Do i require I94 to apply EAD? or my visa on passport is enough for evidence? Can anybody please let me know the procedure for it.

Yes, you need an I-94 to prove that you are in L2 status. Where did you apply for it to get corrected? You can simply visit CBP deferred inspection post at a nearby international airport and most likely they will correct it there.

I applied it in uscis office.They said it will take 2.5 months.I don't know that we can even get correct in international airport.Thank you verymuch for your information.
