L1 lay-off by sponsor cause of buy out

My company will merge with or be bought by another company. Not sure right now ... and also not sure what will happen with me.
- In case they keep us at the new company: Is the visa L1 still valid or do we have to change something / apply new?
- If layed-off how long are we allowed to stay in the USA with the L1/L2 visa?
- In case there is a kind of "cooling period" is my spouse still allowed to work with her L2? How long?
