L2 without marriage certificate

Hi

I have come to US on L1 and now I am getting L2 processed for my wife and kids. We have got married 11yrs back but had not registered it at that time.

Is marriage certificate mandatory?

I am in US currently cannot get that done. Both of our passport have each others name as spouse. Is that sufficient along with marriage album?

Is it advised to take Marriage affidavit from court notary. Will it help.

Advice on this regarding is greatly appreciated.

secondary proofs such as wedding invitation, wedding album are also acceptable for Visa application. But whenever you go to home country next time, get it registered.
