EAD renewal

I applied for my EAD in Dec 2010 and i received it a week ago.But my EAD is expiring by May 2011 as my husband's L1 is expiring in May.He has applied for an extension.My questions are:

1.Can i apply for my EAD extension with the L1 extension receipt ?

2.If yes,does it usually take 90 days for the new EAD to arrive?

3.I am not employed right now and in case i get a job in April or May 2011, while i have applied for my EAD extension, will i be able to work with the EAD receipt number.Is "Case received and pending" a valid situation to work?
I am seeing mixed responses for this question.
Please help me on this.

You will need to file EAD extension based on your own extension receipt. Did you or husband's company on your behalf file I-539 to extend your status? If yes, you can apply for EAD based on that pending application. But it will not be approved until extension gets approved. Consult an attorney.

Yes.My husband's company has applied for my extension too.Sorry i forgot to mention that.

AFAIK you cannot work on receipt, check with an attorney.

EAD extension while I539 extension is pending

Were you able to check with an attorney regarding this issue.My situation is exactly similar. My L1 visa is valid till April 21 ,2011 and hence my husband got his EAD valid only till April 21.We have filed for Visa extension, so just wanted to check if we could file for his EAD extension with his I539 extension receipt.

@sush413-yes,we did check with our attorney.Yes,you can apply for the extension of your husband's EAD with the receipt for his I539 extension notice.But please also be aware that his EAD will not be approved until your L1 is approved and he will not be able to work until he has the new EAD.Hope i have answered your query.

The above is correct.
EAD will not be approved until L2 status is extended and one cannot work with EAD application receipt.

In my case, my EAD extension was approved and got the renewed EAD for 2 years, without getting an approval of L1/L2 (We had not even applied for visa extensions till then for that matter)
