Minimum travel date for L1-B Visa expiry date

Hi,

I have my vaild L1-B VISA stamped for US and my VISA will expirs on May 23rd,2011. I have a question regarding my travel date.

Is there any specific duration between the travel date and L1-B VISA expiry date? that is Do i need to travel before 45 days of my L1-B VISA expiry date?

OR

Can i travel any time before my L1-B VISA expiry date that is before May 23rd 2011?And apply for extension from US?

Please guide me on this !!!
