L1 visa in admin process delay

Hi All,
Anyone has idea why US embassy does such kind of admin process? I interviewed on 9th Feb 2011 and its 2 months but I didn't get my visa stampped.

My interview went normal and counceller said you will get your visa stampped. But after waiting for 15 days, I emaild VFS and they responded that my passport is under admin process. Then I asked for case number they they gave me a case number. When I checked that case number on us embassy web site, it shows 8th Feb 2011; which is incorrect.

Now I am struck here and my wife is already in US. Embassy is not giving me any reason of delay and when can i get my passport back. I can't apply for another visa (like L2).

Is there any control over working of us embassy? Any one can help me that will be very good.

Finally I got my VISA stampped after 2 months (passport was in admin process).

i attended on last week of march-2011. they put in administrative processing. i don't know how many days they will take complete my case.
any time you contacted consulate office or VFS?
