Greencard based on L2/EAD

Hi,
I got EAD based on my L2 visa. Now I am working for an Employer.Can I apply for Greencard thru my
current employer without any h1b visa? if so pl. advise.

if so, how do we apply.
I was told that Green Card has to be applied thru an Employer.
In this case (L2), do we need to apply thru the L2's Emplyer OR since the L2 came based on L1, do we still need to go thru L1 Employer only?
