  • Very Urgent, Please help!!!

Hi Its very urgent. I have got L1B visa from Feb 2011 to Feb 2014. But if I enter US in Feb 2012, then i have to apply for extension in Feb 2014 or Feb 2015. Please help. do they consider 3 years from the date we enter US????

Also what is I94, is it the date when we enter US.

I-94 is a form that you get when you enter the US. There is a date on this form which is the last day you are allowed to stay in the US. For L1 I-94 may be given according to petition expiry, visa expiry, passport expiry or 3 years. Many different variations are known according to individual petition, blanket petition, L1B, L1A etc.
Irrespective of the above, total limit for L1B is 5 years. Time spent in the US in L1 status counts towards this limit. Your employer can file any number extensions until this limit is reached.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

      Thanks Kabkaba, one more query

      Hi Kabkaba,

Thanks a lot. Can last day in US date in I-94 form can be more than the date which is there in my Visa (Visa Expiry Date). I read some threads can saw that last date in US in I-94 form was more than Visa Expiry date. My Visa expiry date is Feb 2014, so if I go US after 1 year can last date in US in I-94 form can be more than Visa expiry.??

        It can be.
Depends on petition expiry date and whether it is an individual petition or blanket petition.
