L2 's expiry time when wife gets a H1

I am on L2 with EAD . my wife is planning to file a H1B petition now. Will my EAD & L2 become invalid as soon as she gets the approval ? Or they will expire only on Oct 2011 when the H1 becomes valid ?

Yes, if your wife's application is filed as change of status and it gets approved, your L2 status will end from the effective date of H1. You will need to file I-539 to change to H4 before that effective date. It is better to file both together.
