Hi Everyone,
Have a Visa interview in a couple of days for L1A Managerial role. Please help by clarifying some doubts.
1. I currently manage a technical department within a company with professional employees under me.
2. The L1A petition has been approved for me to move to US to work for parent company and oversee that same technical department in a number of such companies owned by the parent.
3. Each of these business units for which I will provide policy/ project management etc are in different countries.
4. There is no such technical department in US but my role will be to oversee the operations of these departments in other countries from US.
5. Even though I will have a great role in directing the department employees on projects but I will not be responsible for direct hiring and firing of anyone.
Is this problem?
6. No one will be reporting to me in US. Is this a problem?
Is it absolutely necessary that a manager (functional manager here) must have direct reports with hire/fire capability?
