L1 to H4 Query--Urgent please

1.Currently I am on L1 Visa in US.I am planning to apply for Change Of Status to H4.When can I quit the job?Can I quit and stay in US while H4 is under processing?or Should I continue my L1 job till my H4 gets approved?

You can quit your job anytime after USCIS receives your I-539. Once COS is approved you must stop working.
