L1 visa Pending under 221(g) Admin Processing

Hello All,

My L1-A visa was kept on hold for Administrative Processing. I received my stamped passport today.

Type : L1-A
Consulate: Chennai
Interview Date: 14-June-12
Slip Issued : Pink
Passports Restained: Yes (Including Spouse and Child)
Received Passports with Stamped Visa (L1, L2): 2-July-12

Finally i got a VISA after 6 months of waiting !!!

I attend US consulate Chennai on Jan 20,2012 .Close to five months still waiting for VISA.

any idea or any one on the same process . please share your experiance.

Folks,
I visited Chennai consulate on 1stAugust12. VO interviewed me for some 10 minutes & asked to stay back, gave me a pink slip.
He stamped my petition, gave me two copies & kept one with him. He told me that I will need to carry those copies while travelling.
Again - I was called & a lady asked my family members information. She took my passport & all related docs.

It's been 37 days & my case number is showing as Pending Processing at Chennai consulates PDF.

Please help & give some suggestion whether there are chances of rejection? or the time it may take for AP.
I'm really confused & have changed my name to 221gKaMara :-(

Since the validity expires in Jan 2013, do you think this case will be lapsed by then and will I have to re-apply ? Can somebody please let me know?

Did you send 'em any email as mentioned on pink/other slip you received & queried upon? any response with that?
I didn't get you as what do you mean by 'validity expires in Jan 2013'...is it your application which will expire or current visa ?

I'm waiting for last 43 days [mine is new visa not renewal as is your case] but considering your case I'm AFRAID & loosing hope.

I applied B2 visa, after a nice interview they gave me 221g pink page, asking to mail them in one mail the invitation letter, and my work details.
I mailed them invitation letter and all sponsor documents and my work details but in two different mails. My question is there any harm sending two mails instead of one on same case

Yesterday, (7th-may-2013) I attended the interview in Chennai consulate for L1B visa. I have only 10 years of education and 12 years experience in the same field and I work for an American based well known company. The interviewer and I had a good conversation, and The VO finally said "We can issue a visa for your travel but, before that you need to cross an another checkpoint" and she handed over the pink slip and asked me to go to counter no 31.

In counter no. 31. There was an Indian asked about my highest education and I informed same which i mentioned above. Also, few questions around my family, sibling details and my previous company experience details and my height (weird though!). Then, she gave me a case number and informed that the process will take 2-3 weeks to get an update.

Did anyone in this forum have experience this? if yes, can you please help me here.

Faced the same issue during my interview on May 13th in Chennai. My passport also has been retained and all 3 I129S have been stamped approved. I suspect it had to do with my degree/educational qualification. I was due to travel on May 28th, but i guess that'll have to wait.

Faced the same issue during my interview on May 13th in Chennai. My passport also has been retained and all 3 I129S have been stamped approved. I suspect it had to do with my degree/educational qualification. I was due to travel on May 28th, but i guess that'll have to wait.

I'm in teh same boat as yours. Got 221(g) pink slip on 22nd May and they have retained my passport. From then till now have been compiling data on 221(g) cases with special emphsis on average processing time, Cases cleared during recent moths, longest running case etc.

Good news is that the processing time has reduced considerably from what it was last year and there are more cases cleared per month as compared to last year. Attached is the file showing day-by-day clearances for May.



Bottomline: After running all the analytics on almost all the avaliable cases for last year, the processing time has reduced "in general".

If you have any specific question regarding how may people have already been cleared on the day your 221(g) slip was given, send to me your receipt number.

L1A Blanket visa got Pink Slip on 4th April 2013

Got Pink Slip on 4th April against L1A visa stamping I went for in Chennai Consulate. Its been over 100 days still the status is same as Under processing only. In past I had a H1B and L1A still going through this. How much more wait no one knows

VO asked only 2 questions and retained out passports and petition.
Counter no.31 asked about siblings [only].
Waiting for 92 days now.
