Anwar, One of my friend got yellow slip from Mumbai for his B1 last year Oct 2010 and it took exactly 2 months for his clearance. He is having ~15 years of IT experience. So I guess, nothing can be done apart from waiting.

Pronab, atleast some movement in your case. Did you call up consulate office for such ambiguous email? is the same email id <[email protected]> you received email from?

Thanks for the information Farajana. Even in the state.gov website some information about the time taken is give and it says around 60 days.

Is there anyone from Hyderabad consulate under L1 visa - admnistrative processing. How many days it is usually taking now a days? I have completed one monthh now. Pl share your experience.

has anybody been able to open the kolkata website PDF? I couldn't open the one that was uploaded on 5th Aug and one uploaded today on 8th Aug . The website throws an error File Not found. This is utterly frustrating. How else are we supposed to keep track of what's being processed !!

Administratvie Processing

Hi All,

I am also a victim of AAP and below are my details.

Interview Date: June 7th 2011
Consulate : Hyderabad
Admin Processing : No letter just asked me reply to a questionnaire and i did on the same day of my interview
Passport : They retian my passport
Total days in Admin Processing 64 days
Still waiting for the Passport

Kiran , yes my Visa type is L1B and i am not sure why it is taking so much time , i called DOS many times but everytime same reply "under processing"

Kiran , it depends on the case.If your case is genuine then you need not worry otherwise yes i read in many other forums that even after months of administrative processing they refured the visa becuase of **** petition or employment history etc...

Hi Farajana, I didn't speak with Kolkata Consulate folks ever but I sent email to them and got reply that they will contact with me as soon as it is processed. What do you think should I contact again? I also stopped calling DOS. Today my colleague is travelling US which I missed.

Pronab, felt bad to hear that someone else is travelling on your place. But what can we do? I guess, we are just helpless..
I did call Kol consulate last week to know if I can travel on B1 while my 221g for L1A is wip. While they were nice (atleast not rude), they did inform me that I can take a chance and be ready with the docs at PoE. Also they said me not to rely so much on internet/blogs and think that your clearance will take long time. 221g is just routine check (he was talking this so emotionless as I felt, he doesnt understand pain from which we are going thru). Anyway, for my queries on parallel L2 while 221g is happening, he asked me to hold and he said, "Let me f.wd you to the person who is working on your case". But then he came back within 2-3 mins and said, person is not available. In conclusion, I do not think, they are the right people to let us know status of our apps. But as your case is pretty old, you can also try calling them. May be local language may help.. But you know, we are far better from so many people who have home/family in US and they get stuck in India.. So lets hope for the best in our case.
