L1 visa Pending under 221(g) Admin Processing

Hi All,
I am Mohamed From Cairo Egypt, I did my US embassy interview on 11 May 2011, and my case is still pending and I sent them over than 10 emails and they have only one answer "pending for administrative processing", but after 2 months from my interview they answered me that my wife and my kids are clear, and if you want to print their visas, we could print them and send them to you, but your case is still pending, the only thing that made me crazy is that we are one family and we did the interview on the same time , how all my family members are clear except me.

Even thought you are one family, each case is analyzed separately. There are lot of back ground checks that happen these days. They have to check eacj individual applicant to see if they are all clear. Looks like the process is complete for your family but it is still pending for you. There is nothing much yuo could do. Sending emails won't help. The only option is to relax and wait until things get clear.

Renewal of L1-B stuck in Admin Procesing

I appeared for interview in London on June, 22. Still waiting. This is global issue.

I appeared for my L1B interview and L2 for my family on 7th June 2011at Chennai, India. I was handed over a pink slip and no documents asked. I was told that I will get it stamped in 8 weeks. It's been 72 days and I am still waiting. I really wonder what do they do for so many days. It is affecting me in a big way.

@7thJune: I am waiting since 1st Jun'11 and I was also told that I will get by 2 months. Don't know what the hell they are doing.In the status PDF of kolkata consulate, we can't see any good movement for last 3/4 weeks.

Looks like it is a deliberate way to reduce the surge of L1 applications. Now a days in India the number of L1 applicants have gone up where as number applicants for H1 has gone down. Since there is no official cap(max number in a year) on L1, they might have put an unofficial cap on this. I can't think of any other reason than this delay.

The other reason could be June and July are the busiest months for consulate as plenty of students apply for VISA. Nearly 80% of them go through this administrative process. So the work load is quite high for DOS.

By studying the chennai PDF for nearly 2 months, I clearly see that if you do not gey by 24-30 days period, it definitely gets delayed more than 2 months. 10 weeks to 14 weeks is what should be the max wait I guess.

Anyway, patience is the only way to deal with this. Let's pray for all who are waiting.

To help with my case- did anyone face this issue with an INDIVIDUAL petition? I am currently in US with an approved L1A individual but need to get it stamped and kind of worried about this though so far just heard blanket cases.

Also is this an issue in Canada as well? I could look at going there for stamping.

I have received the stamped L1/L2 visa today. The visa was issued only for 2 years.

Visa interview date : 22nd july 2011
Visa issue date : 22nd august 2011
Admin processing : Yes, Passport retained, Pink slip issued, no documents requested

Great to hear that your case is cleared within 1 month. Actually they retaining passport gives some hope. Hearty Congratulations.... I don't think, we kolkata folks will be that lucky (I know, am bit negative, but thats better instead of checking PDF files everyday) Kolkata pink slip cases takes avg 3 months time.

L1B - Refused.. given 221(g) Blue form

Hi All,

I am from chennai nd attended the Interview on 23rd in Hyderabad due to last moment travel plan and unavailability of slots in chennai..

VO asked straight forwards question like , client name, exp in current company, specialised know.. thats all.. finally VO said visa cannot be approved at this point of time and needs to go for administrative process.

He gave a case number in blue 221(g) form and didnt tick any thing in the form.

i have not intimated to submit the docs.

Just have 2 yrs of exp..

Can somebody tel me whats the process to move forward?

Do i need to reapply again in chennai,
how do i get the intimation from the consulate if ther is any update.

Some info is appreciated, and i m new to the visa processing procedures.

Kaarthi,You do not need to apply for visa again unless there is refusal/denial of your prev visa application. You can check status of your application by providing your case ID Number online on Hyd US consulate site. http://hyderabad.usconsulate.gov/pen...sed-visas.html There are FAQs present on the site, you can read the same to gain more insights in this process. .

Can you pls tell us when you got the email/phone call from consulate that you AP is completed? It is really a very good news and your prediction is true that processing will be completed within 14 weeks. I am waiting from 1st Jun and don't know whether it will be processed within 14 weeks for my case.

Thank you.....I got an SMS from VFS saying my passport is ready and i can pick them up but there is no update on the consulate website , still my visa status on the site is showing as under processing.Hopefully yours also will be done in one or two weeks.
