L1 visa Pending under 221(g) Admin Processing

got my number in the approved visa list today

Was interviewed on 20th June 2011 for B1/B2
Put for admin processing 221g
Saw the number in the list - 14th Sep 2011
However the passport is with me, need to call them and find out about the next process.....

Applied in Mumbai.

The number I was talking about is the Barcode number whihc gets reflected in the pending visa pdf file

3. Did you call consulate today? What happened?
Went to Visa Application Center (Mumabi) and submitted my Passport. They said I'll get the passport with the visa in a weeks time.

Pink Slip at Chennai on L1A

I attended the interview at Chennai Consulate on Aug 25th along with my wife and kid. The VO asked 5 questions : 1) What is your domain expertize? 2) Which client are you going to work for and where is the client located? 3)Where are you going to be located? 4)How many people will report into you? 5) What is your total work exp?

I answered all the questions the way it was mentioned in the original petition.

After a pause, she said that my visa looks approvable but they need some additional information. She handed all the documents along with the pink slip and asked me to go to counter 31.

The officer (Indian) at the counter asked only one question - How many siblings do you have and where are they based? And then he said that my case has been put on the Administration Processing which would take anwhere between 3-12 weeks. They also retained my passport and all other documents.

Today is the end of 3rd week and nothing has changed on the status.

I believe the only thing to do is to wait with patience.

Dear All,

I am travelling to USA tomorrow. Finally my case is processed after exactly 100 days.

I got a call on last friday to submit my passport and I submitted on tuesday. I receved my passports with stamped Visas on wednessday. I can see still my case is showing as PENDING in the pdf.

L1B,Chennai,Passport retained,Pink Slip,No docs asked.

Siblings question asked in Counter 31..was told 8 weeks but still waiting...

L1A pending processing

Had interview on 8th Aug at chennai for L1A blanket. Got admin processing ping slip. Still waiting.

Visa type: L1A Blanket
Slip : Pink
Interview date : 8-8-2011

After interview just asked to goto last counter where indian lady asked about my previous employments, all my siblings name, age and location.

I never applied to US visa before. Dont know why i am in this processing. Have a degree from UK so only visited there before. Afterwards twice visa rejected by UK on ground of lack of fund.

I checked who all got pending process on 8th Aug. There were 26 people and as of yesterday only 11 remains in pending processing category.

Anyone knows why there is no update today on 16th Sep from chennai consulate?

It's not uncommon

Once or twice a month they do not update the PDF.

Sibling question

Why do they ask the sibling question? What connection do my siblings have with my visa?

I have a US B1/B2 for past 3 years and have travelled to US 9 times - and returned within 6 weeks everytime. Also have valid work permits for Aus and UK where I worked for 3 months and 4 months respectively.

Not sure what other forms of genuinity they require? This is so frustrating - in my 4th week.

Hi Mani -- when was your interview? VO told me the same thing as to my visa looks approvable but they need some additional information.. I went for interview on 29th August and I was informed 4-6 weeks by lady on counter 31.. (12 weeks per pink slip..) Still waiting... I guess patience is key...
