Can i apply EAD and H1B in parallel ?

Hi,

I have L2 visa.I am planning to apply for EAD.But my husband(have L1) is gona apply for extension in another 4 months,so even if i get the EAD after 3 months i may not work for longer.

so can i parallely search for job who will be sponsering H1 while the EAD is in progress ?

Is there any connection between EAD and H1 processing ?Are these mutually exclusive or it can go in parallel ?

It would be great if i get some pointers ?

You can certainly have an employer file H1 for you while you have EAD pending or approved. But once your status changes to H1, you must work for the H1 employer and cannot use the EAD.

Can you suggest/advice whether to apply EAD first and then H1 or apply H1 first and then EAD? which would be the preferred order.

You can apply for EAD any time as long as your status is L2.
For H1 you need to have a job first and the employer will file H1.
