L1 after B1 visa

Hi All,

I am here in USA for 5 months on B1 ,going to India for L1 stamping
my concern is
If consulate person may ask me why did you stayed for a long period in USA on B1 visa ?
How should I justify with my answer .
I am most worried about this .
Please suggest me .

If you stayed within your I-94 date, you should not have any problems answering that question.

Yes I have stayed within I-94 date but the problem is
My Passport shows B1 eventhough I have applied for B1 in lieu of H1
So for B1 I heard that we shouldnt stay beyond 3months this will be problem for L1.Can you please let me know what is the justification that I can give to answer the long stay in US on B1
