L1B to GreenCard

Hi,

I am on L1B visa which is expiring on Aug-15-2012. I will be completing 5 years in L1 at that time and it cannot be extended.

My employer is ready to process Green card and what are the options for starting Green Card. If the green card process starts in Aug-2011 what are the chances of getting the continuation of stay after Aug 2012?

You need to apply for COS to H1 this year. You will get one more year (total 6 years). By the time H1 expires, if your Labour Certification (first step in GC process) has been filed and is pending for more than a year, then H1 extension can be filed for another 1 year. Once I-140 is approved, you can stay up to another 3 years.
