Is there a possibility to apply L2 visa without the company's knowledge of the principal applicant. In other words does L2 need any mandatory documents from L1's company?

Yes. But it is good to carry documents proving employment such as pay stubs and W2 etc. Also, if the company can give a general letter stating that the principal is working with them, that will be helpful.
