Query on L1 Visa Extension

Hi Friends,

I have a L1 Visa which will get expired on 28th August 2011.
Currently I am in India and planning to go to US by this month end. As per rules I have file for an extension before 6 months of I-94 expiry. Can any one of you tell me if US Immigration gives much time to file for en extension?
I mean that will they provide me I-94 expiry such that I get enoogh tiem to file for an extension?

For L1, I-94 date depends on petition expiry, time spent in the US and it can be longer than the Visa. If I-94 is according to Visa, your company must file before it expires.

Your compay should file an extension, as soon as you enter the USA. Processing of extension is taking longer time these days. You can travel to USA even 10 days prior to the expiry of the visa, had your extension been filed. I know someone who travelled 10 days before expiry of visa and extension was pending.
Please file your extension in the first week of August as soon as you land in the USA.
