L1B to H1B

Hi,

I am on L1 B visa working for “X” company and had an interview with “Y” company one week back. I said them I am on L1 and looking for sponsorship from L1B to H1B and they concur for doing the same.

My question is: will they start process now? If I get my new petitions [H1B] papers by end of august, can I start work for new employer immediately or do I need to wait till end of September?

Please help me!

If you have not been counted against H1 cap before, the earliest start date will be Oct 1.
