L1B Status (Please reply)

Hi,

I am working on L1 B visa from company A. I have H1B visa from company B which is active from 1st Oct 2011.

my question is "if i quit company A around 8th Sept 2011 then my L1B visa will be active for how many days" ?

Please let me know.

If you quit company A on 8th Sept, then you need to leave the country and return back on or after Oct 1st in H1B visa. Otherwise you will go out of status on L1 from 9th Sept until Oct 1st which can cause unnecessary issues later. You need to be employed with the L1 employer until the end of Sept to maintain the valid L1 status until H1B becomes effective. Starting Oct 1st, you should be employed with the H1B sponsor.

I will keep that in mind. I will not start on H1B until 1st October.
