I-94 end date on L1B Blanket, whats the pattern these days?

I've an L1 B Blanket valid till March 2012, I'm expexted to enter US via JFK end of Sept this yr. I've come to know from various sources that on a Blanket visa the I-94 date is 3 yr from the date of entry? Is this true or are there any observances of I-94 being stampped till end of VISA date?

I'm going to US assuming that I may get a 3 yr stamp on I-94, is this a safe assumption to make?

If it's not, can I easaily get my staus changed to H1B from L1 B? What is the current H1B processing status?

Pls suggest.

L1 I-94 depends on a lot of things like petition type (A/B and blanket/individual) and previous time spent in the US in H1 or L1 status.
If I-94 is of a shorter duration that you expect, the employer can always file extension of stay for you if they want you to work for some more time.
H1 petition can be filed as long as H1 cap remains open.
