  • L1A stamping - any issues?

    Hi,

I just got my petition of conversion to L1B (from L1A) approved. The L1A was an individual petition. I am planning to get the visa stamped when I go to India on a vacation in a 2-3 mths

My understanding is that for an individual petition; the approval is based on the profile of the individual and not the company hence the interview should be smooth as the VO will have all of my details clearly in the approved petition since it was individual.

Any issues you all see in the stamping of an individual L1A? Should I not take the risk of India and go for Canada instead??

Hi, would appreciate if anyone could reply on this - in the interview section ppl dont generally mention whether their visa was blanket or regular - I just wish to know IF anyone with a regular, approved petition has had an interview rejection and/or admin processing - also if people could share their views on this.

L1 individual doesn't mean that you are self employed. It is still an employer's petition, so they will check both the individual's documents and the company documents. Search immihelp and you will find cases where L1 individual is been rejected for people. More cases are rejected because of lack of specilized skills and lack of experience.

Thanks for the reply Shervin. I actually searched the forum for interview experiences & basically didn't come across anyone with an approved individual visa that was rejected in the interview. In fact most interview experiences of blanket visa guys mentioned that on rejection; the VO asked them to file for individual or H1

My L1A regular petition has been approved; I am already in US on a L1B blanket - this was a conversion. I just wish to reach out & check if after having an approved individual petition; are there people who have still been rejected in interviews or stuck in admin processing? So far seen that just for blanket folks

It is still possible to get a 221g or a visa rejection for L1 individual. But, I think you are worrying too much. If all documents are in place, you should take the interview with confidence. Read through all these experiences will only confuse and add more stress before your interview.
