L2 to L1

Hi - My husband is currently working in US on L1 VISA and I am there with him on L2 VISA taking leave of absence from my work, My employer had decided to assign me a project in US and has filed a L1B petition for me, I have recieved the petition.

Do I have to return India and get L1B visa stamped ? are there any risks ?
How can I start working in US ?

If petition is approved with change of status, you can start working without leaving the US.
If petition is approved without change of status you will have to leave the US, obtain L1 Visa and return in L1 status to start working. The risk is obviously Visa denial.
