Question on I94 expiry on L2

Hi,

I am currently on L1B visa and my I94 is expiring in next month. My wife is on L2 and working here with EAD. My wife has her I94 till March 2013.

My company is planning on my extension and my question here is if my visa extension is denied, can my wife still stay until her I94 expiry?

In principle she cannot stay. It is strange that her I-94 is different.
