Travel via Europe on L2 extension

My wife is on L2. Her L2 was just renewed while in US, she received approval notice and new I94.
Her visa stamp in the passport is expired.

Can she travel from US to India via Europe (London/Frankfurt)? or should she take a direct flight from US to India?
