Canada Work Permit to US L1/L2 Visa

Hi,

I am on a Canada Work Permit & moved in few months back to Toronto.

My employer now wants me to move to NY & apply for a L1/L2 visa from Canada, is it possible to apply & recieve a US L1/L2 for self & spouse from Toronto consulate or do i need travel back to India & apply for the same.

Even for a business visa (short term travel) can we apply the same from Toronto? Please advise.

If L1 petition is already approved, you can certainly apply from Canada.

Thanks for your advise, what if it's a complete new petition? Can we apply for a petition from Toronto.

Basically my Head Office in NY will ask the India Office to submit the same, but can i provide all signatures & required paperwork from Toronto & submit.

The petition is filed by your employer. Your location does not matter. You are only a beneficiary. After petition is approved, you can apply for your Visa at any nearby US consulate/embassy.
